Wild mushrooms grow on tree roots, on dead matter and even on the bodies of some insects.

They are essential for the functioning and renewal of ecosystems and arouse a great deal of curiosity and interest in human beings. Last Saturday, October 19, we had a work day to explore some species of mushrooms that occur in a forest area of the Arouca Geopark. The activity included a field trip in the morning and a complementary study in the Science Workshop of the Arouca Secondary School. Mycologist Paulo de Oliveira was in charge of the guidance and there were around 20 participants.
